The hardness comes from limestone geology. As water moves through the glacially deposited limestone and dolomite that underlies most of central Indiana, it picks up dissolved calcium and magnesium. How to Read Indiana Consumer Confidence Reports
Every Indiana public water system serving more than 25 people is required by the Safe Drinking Water Act to publish an annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) summarizing what was detected, at what level, and how it compares to regulatory limits.
